Section E15 Leadership

We are Section E15 and our vision is to increase inter-lodge relations and communication, to increase training and leadership development opportunities, to promote regional and national events by expanding the availability of resources for our lodges, to work and cooperate as a team of officers, and to provide a fun and educational section conclave that will help to promote the Order of the Arrow to our fellow scouts.

George is an Eagle Scout and member of TKäen DōD Lodge of the Five Rivers Council. George started in scouting in 1987 as a Cub Scout and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow in the Spring of 1993. As a youth George served as a ceremonialist, was Lodge Treasurer, Chapter Chief, and Lodge Chief for two years. He was also the Section NE-3A Secretary and Vice-Chief. George served on camp staff at Camp Gorton for over twelve summers as an instructor, Commissioner, Program Director, and Camp Director. George served on the largest National Camp School Staff at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation for four years. He served as Chapter Advisor, Lodge Advisor. Currently he serves as the Five Rivers Council Vice President of NCAP and  was awarded the Silver Beaver Award in 2016. Outside of Scouting George was a Social Studies teacher for seventeen years for the Corning-Painted Post School District and currently is the Vice Principal at Horseheads High School. George was awarded the Excellence in Action Award for his service to youth in the C-PP School District. He holds an associate’s degree from Corning Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Oswego State, a master’s from Elmira College, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership From SUNY Cortland.

As an adult Eric has served in various roles in Scouting in manu BSA Councils throughout the country while serving 20 years in the U.S Navy. He served as Assistant Scoutmaster in North Florida Council Troop 37 in Atlantic Beach FL, Assistant Scoutmaster in Moby Dick Council Troop 74 in New Bedford MA, Campmaster Corps for Camp Cachalot in Moby Dick Council, Committee Member in Coastal Carolina Council Troop 458 in Goose Creek SC, Scoutmaster in Tidewater Council Troop 824 in Chesapeake VA, Aquatics Director in Tidewater Council Camp Pepsico, Wood Badge participant in course NE-lll-130, receiving his beads in 1996, District  Commissioner for Iroquois Trails Council, Den Leader in Iroquois Trails Council Pack 47 in Pendleton NY, cub Master in Iroquois Council Pack 98 in Pendleton NY, Staff on Woodbadge for the 21 Century on course NE-lll-137, Webelos Den Leader in GNFC Pack 455, Polaris District Camping Chairman from 2007-2009 and Campmaster. He also served briefly as Committee Member in GNFC Troop 184 in 2008, before becoming Scoutmaster of Troop 184 from 2008 to December 2014, Falling Waters Chapter Advisor of the Order of the Arrow from 2007 to 2016, Lodge Advisor for Ho-De-No-Sau-Nee Lodge from 2017 to 2019 and Northeast Region Area 3 Camp Accreditation Team Member from 2008 to present day.
